Dr. Arthur Maxwell Taylor Jr.

Dr. Arthur Maxwell Taylor Jr., Lapwai resident, member of the Nez Perce Tribe and descendant of Chief Eagle in the Light passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013. Arthur was the second child born to Veronica Mae (McCormack) Taylor and Arthur (Charlie) Taylor, born Saturday, Feb. 6, 1965, in Lewiston. Arthur passed away unexpectedly due to a massive heart attack.

Arthur is survived by his brother, Levi Taylor; and nephew, Shane Taylor at the family home in Lapwai; sister Elizabeth Gayle Taylor; nephews Loren Snow Sweowat and Nicolas Alexander; and granddaughter Victoria Mae Sweowat, all of Pendleton, Ore.; aunts and uncles Loretta (McCormack) and Ron Halfmoon, Shirley (Shell) McCormack, Esky and Marge McCormack and Robert Tuell, all of Lapwai.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Veronica Mae (McCormack) Taylor and Arthur (Charlie) Taylor.

A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Pi Nee Waus Community Center in Lapwai, with a memorial to follow. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pi Nee Waus Community Center, with dinner to follow. There will be a viewing this evening.
