Eric Raymond Alexander Morrone

Eric Raymond Alexander Morrone left us Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011. An amazing person has been ripped from our lives and we will forever hold him in our love.

Eric was born July 17, 1980, in Taft, Calif. He was the model of a perfect baby. He never cried, he kept himself entertained and he entertained those around him. He had dimples that went for miles and shared his beautiful smile readily. Eric was an amazing big brother to his younger brothers and took the responsibility of making sure they were OK very seriously.

Eric lived in Southern California, Great Falls, Mont., Lewiston and Clarkston. On Feb. 12, 2009, Eric married Heidi Lodge, and they have two amazing beautiful little boys, Damien and Nicholas, who adored him. He took on the role of father like a pro and it came easy to him. He loved his little boys from the bottom of his heart and would do anything for them. He wasn't afraid to get down on the floor and roll around with them for hours on end, attempting to wear them out before finally flopping down on the floor exhausted as they continued to run around him. There were no lengths Eric wouldn't go to to assure Damien and Nicholas were taken care of and happy.

Eric worked at Schweitzer Engineering Labs in Pullman and before that the Red Lion in Lewiston. He took his job very seriously and was a dedicated and hard worker. He was always putting in for new trainings and certifications and recently was awarded a promotion. His dedication to improving himself was a tribute to how seriously he took his job. He played down his accomplishments, but he was truly amazing.

Eric was a selfless person who would jump up in a moment and take care of any and every need you had. He loved to do things for his family and friends and would do just about anything for them. Eric was an avid reader. His shelves were full of sci-fi and fantasy books and movies and he loved to discuss them. He also loved dragons and swords and had an extensive collection. His favorite was an authentic samurai sword from Japan, which he loved to show off.

Eric was a Marine and served from 2000-2004. He was a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was very patriotic and loved his country. He was dedicated to his brothers in arms and put them above himself at all times. He was honorable, respected, selfless, and well loved by everyone who knew him.

Eric is survived by his wife, Heidi Morrone; two sons, Damien and Nicholas; parents, Peggi and Stephen Morrone; brother, Travis Morrone and his fiancee Joan Moore and son Collin; and his brother, Stephen Morrone.

His family loves him, and he will be in their hearts forever. The void will never be filled. A little piece of him survives in his two sons. Semper fi, my darling, and rock on!

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Merchant Funeral Home of Clarkston.
