Kenneth Lee Trautman passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, from natural causes at the age of 62.

He was born Sept. 22, 1960, the youngest boy of 10 children, in Moscow, to Laurette Hanson and Emery J. Trautman.

He attended St. Mary’s School (caught by the nuns smoking in the janitor’s closet in third grade) and Junior High in Moscow before moving to Clarkston where he attended high school (Class of ’78).

He married Sandy Elam in Coeur d’Alene. That marriage ended in divorce. He then married Leah Lehrbas in Colbert, Wash. That marriage also ended in divorce.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandparents Skinny and Olga Hanson, and his paternal grandparents Joe and Mary Ann Trautman. Also by brothers Ron, David, Mike, Ricky and Robby.

He is survived by his brother, Larry (Jackie) of Spokane, honorary brother, Jim Beck (Paula) of Moscow, his sisters, Marcia Hendren of Juliaetta, Gloria Luther (Tom) of Kirkland, Ariz., and Mary Boyd (Chad) of Pullman, and his Aunt, Wanda Michael (Bob) along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his cat, Lily.

Ken was known for his caring manner and for always wanting to do things “his way.” If you tried to pin him down by asking a question the answer you were more than likely to receive was, “I do not recall.” He was a lifelong Colts fan and cheered on the Idaho Vandals. He loved being in the woods and was an avid fisherman. He worked in the construction industry, then as a chef for many years before moving to the food supply service business and retiring from Food Services of America.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Goodnight and God Bless you Kenny.
