Marguerite (Marge) Eleanor Stebbins, 83, of Pullman, passed away Aug. 3, 2013, at Avalon Care Center in Pullman. Marge was born Feb. 17, 1930, in New York to Jeremiah and Anne Kelly. She grew up and attended Catholic school in New York, graduating from high school there. Marge met Fred Stebbins at a USO dance and in 1952 they were married in the Bronx, N.Y. They moved to California where he completed his career in the U.S. Army, settling in San Mateo, where together they raised their family.

Marge was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who always put her family first. She was always volunteering at the children's schools in numerous capacities. Through the years she also enjoyed volunteering at area hospitals. Marge was a wonderful neighbor, enjoyed sewing, reading, and working in her garden. She and Fred moved to Michigan for a time before moving to Pullman in 1998. Marge was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and was a parish member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pullman.

Marge is survived by her daughters, Laura Stebbins of Pullman, Michelle Martinez and husband Steven of Pullman, Kathy Stebbins and Lasse Dahllof of Falkoping, Sweden, and Patricia Hardison of Charlotte, N.C.; her sister, Mary Therese Conlan; and her six grandchildren, Krista Wiens and Stephanie Martinez, Jennifer and Emelie Eriksson, Courtney and Kelly Hardison. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Fred (2006); and two brothers, Richard (1953) and Jeremiah Kelly (2001).

The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pullman, with a reception to follow the ceremony. Private family graveside interment services will take place at the Pullman Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is caring for the family.
