Reva E. Ferguson
Reva E. Ferguson

The Lord called Reva home Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Life Care Center of Lewiston.

Reva was born April 28, 1916, at the homestead on Angel Ridge. She was the baby of the family, with four siblings. She was so small at birth, they made her a bed in a shoebox, then set it on the open oven door of the cook stove to keep her warm.

Reva went to school in the Peck area and graduated with honors from high school. She married Emmett "Hokey" Leeper in 1934. They lived on Melrose and Angel Ridge and raised two sons, William Paul and David Emmett Leeper. Hokey was killed in an auto accident.

Reva met and married Burdett Ferguson. They spent their time between Headquarters, logging camps and Lewiston. They were married for 57 years. Burdett died of age-related causes. Mom was generous, caring and a real lady, always ready to help.

There's something very special/ And I know where it grows:/ I've seen it in a lily;/ I've seen it in a rose./ Across the autumn sky;/ I've seen it in a dewdrop/ And in my mother's eye./ There's something very special/ And each of us has part:/ A little glow worth sharing/ God planted in each heart.
