Shannon Bosch, age 51, of Kendrick, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at home.
She was born in Creston, British Columbia, to Jenny Geier and Bill Nieman. Over the years, Shannon worked at Payless Shoe Store, Home Depot and the Genesee School District for the past eight years.
Shannon and John Ray VanEtten were married in 1980 at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Their son, Jonathan VanEtten, was born in 1981. They were later divorced. Shannon met the love of her life, Steve Brooks, in 2005. They have made their home in Kendrick. Shannon also worked for John Heigis and the senior citizen center at Kendrick. Shannon loved her roses and inside plants. She enjoyed camping and being there for her friends and family when needed. Shannon had a beautiful smile - her personality would light up a room. Shannon will be so missed by all. She touched many lives.
Shannon had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Kaylee; they have always had this bond, never to be broken. Shannon's face would light up seeing her Kaylee. They spent many precious times together.
Recently Shannon and her friend, Bobi Sheets, went on Shannon's very first real vacation to Arizona. They made lifetime memories on that trip.
Shannon's parents are Jenny Geier and the late Bill Nieman. She is survived by son Jonathan VanEtten and spouse Jessica Brown; granddaughter Kaylee VanEtten; sisters Monica, Theresa, Jennelle and Kelly; her stepmother, Jackie Nieman; her stepsister, Stephany; and brothers David, Bill and Robert. She is also survived by her extended family in Canada and stepchildren Kellie Brooks and Matt Brooks.
Shannon's celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Kendrick Grange Hall on Main Street. Rest in peace, our dear friend.
