Shirley E. Jepson, 69, died Aug. 2, 2013, at her Clearwater home.
Shirley Eilien was born May 15, 1944, in Monroe, Mich. She was the eighth child of 12 children of Forrester and Gladys (Davis) Ellison. She attended Lincoln School and graduated from Jefferson High school in Monroe.
Shirley married James O'Dell in 1961 in Monroe; they later divorced in 1978. She then married Carl T. Stout in 1981 in Monroe. He passed away in 1997. Later she came to Clearwater and married Keith G. Jepson in April 2000 in Grangeville.
Shirley was a member of the Detroit Beach Boat Club for 19 years before coming to Idaho and she served as president and recording secretary. She was secretary of BPC Volunteer Rural Fire Department for six years. She was a member of the Central Idaho Quilters guild and was featured quilter in 2010 at the Kamiah Barbecue Days. She loved to sew and make quilts, go camping, dancing, cross-stitching, making crafts and embroidery.
She worked for an automobile company for 24 years as a quality control manager in Michigan before coming to Idaho.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Keith Jepson, at their Clearwater home; a daughter, Phyllis Schoenberger of Siloam Springs, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Melody Larson of Issaquah, Wash.; two sons, James D. and Kenneth O'Dell of Monroe; and stepson Timothy Jepson of Everett, Wash,; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Johnson, Juanita Tezak, Mary Lee Platt, Sharon Schmelz and Loretta Ruseau of Monroe; three brothers, Charles of Monroe, Curtis Of Corrytron, Tenn., and William Ellison of Elkmont, Ala.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding Shirley in death were her parents; and three brothers Raymond, Wayne and James.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be donated to BPC Volunteer Rural Fire Department of Clearwater, Clearwater Quick Response Unit or a charity of their choice.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Trenary Funeral Home of Kooskia.
According to Shirley's wishes, there will be no services.
