Little should have vetoed
Idaho Gov. Brad Little should have vetoed House Bill 545, which will ensure Idaho’s working poor remain not just poor but also at imminent risk of outright homelessness. Idaho stubbornly clings to a federal minimum wage of $7.25, unchanged since 2009 despite huge increases in both rents and cost of living generally.
It’s Orwellian double-speak for Moscow Rep. Brandon Mitchell to prohibit cities and counties from capping rents or requiring landlords to accept federal housing vouchers because “we need to have as many properties in the state as we can, and that’s what brings prices down for affordable housing.”
Who put Mitchell up to this undemocratic and inhumane legislation? Has he ever visited and spoken with residents at any of the Moscow-area mobile home parks affected by his bill?
I knew people in the now-vacant Syringa park and have friends at Appaloosa, Palouse Hills, Abiel and Woodland Heights (formerly Valhalla, for us old-timers). These are hard-working people largely in the service economy, as well as veterans, disabled, and older folks and kids, who are now being threatened with eviction ... .

What about transparency?
As I have reported in previous letters to the editor, Clearwater County Sheriff Chris Goetz has been less than honest in properly distributing search and rescue reimbursement to the volunteers as he signed he would on the form.
Then also when the backcountry medic team rejoined Clearwater County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue in 2016, he didn’t have their funds included in the CCSSAR treasury so he could pay his helicopter search and rescue expenses through that private account instead of through his department’s account.
In March 2016, when he took over CCSSAR and appointed himself treasurer, he vowed transparency and stated he wouldn’t pay any bills without CCSSAR approval. So by keeping the backcountry medic account separate, he didn’t feel the need of approval to pay bills out of that private account. But wait: Backcountry medic was now a part of CCSSAR even if they had a separate account.

It’s just amazing
Ain’t it amazin’ how a senile old psychopathic narcissist who thinks he’s a genius, with the mental faculties of a toddler in the throes of a perennial “terrible twos” tantrum, holds complete sway over 70 million or so brainwashed MAGA cult groupies?
Donny Dystopia bloviates and obfuscates unendingly, unenduringly 24/7, while wailing and moaning for his diddy: “Wah wah, they kicked me outta the White House, rigged the election, they’re persecuting me for things I never did, a Biden witch hunt. I’m going broke. So unfair. Wah wah.”
Then comes the really good stuff. “There will be retribution. There will be persecution. I will percolate, emasculate, devastate, desecrate, hallucinate, prevaricate, eviscerate, incinerate, defenestrate, degenerate, castigate, flagellate, etc. in effluential, exponential perpetuity.”
Doctor Demento goes on to say: “And there will be blood if I am not anointed King. Not my blood, of course, I need my blood, as I did during the Vietnam War when my bunions got me into college where I was too busy partying ... to bother getting a useless degree.”
Honest Don’s standing moniker in the golfing world is “Pele,” for his slutty style of kicking his balls back onto the fairways and greens. Mr. Cheeseburger tried his damndest to kick his balls back into the White House after the 2020 election. “Wah wah.”
The MAGA miscreants don’t give a damn about the country or democracy as long as Donald Trump gets his Hitler shoes and his diddy back. Trumpocracy, here we come? Doo wah diddy.

Supporters short Trump
Donald Trump needs more cash to stay out of jail and get elected. His billionaire friends won’t help him. Because if Trump is convicted or loses, they will not get the influence they paid him for. If Trump wins he won’t pay them back at all: art of the deal. So his grass-roots followers must get him to the mount, Bible, cross, sneakers and all. His minions need to buy Trump’s Truth Social stock.
He can be helped if his minions closely embrace the Republican Party’s goal of changing child labor laws. The GOP is currently trying to let 13-year-olds work perilous adult jobs in meat-packing plants in 11 states.
MAGAs need to get their kids out of school and into the meat-packing plants. These kids could buy tons of Trump’s stock. Not much to learn after middle school anyway since the Republicans are banning books like crazy. But at the abattoir, the skill of wrangling chickens and packing pork is learned and Trump stock can be bought with the earnings. When Trump dumps all his stock, he will make a fortune and the best part is, everyone else who bought the stock will still own it. Win-win.
