Urges council to change
I am again writing you to discuss the ban that the city council has in place against the sale of marijuana in the city limits of Clarkston. ...
We have joined together at every council meeting to stand up against the negative looks, negative comments, name calling, and the overall feeling of being looked down upon simply because we as people feel differently than each and every one of you. It is not right.
You keep using the smokescreen of keeping our children safe when in actuality you are doing them harm. You are dividing the unity that this city possesses. We have proven it.
Another point I wish to make is that I have personally heard each and every one of the councilors claim that none opposes medical marijuana. To this, I have to disagree. ...
The passing of Senate Bill 5052 bands medical and recreational marijuana together as one in the same. ... How can you say that you are looking out for the betterment of our city, then turn around in the very same breath and tell us that we and our children have to suffer?
All because of a $50 city business license that you refused to issue? ...
I sat at the last meeting and watched Councilor Bill Provost sleep while the public was speaking. This is not the first time, either. I had time to dig my phone out of my purse, turn it on, and snap two totally different pictures of him. ...

Can't be serious
Below is my answer to "Opening the gates" by William VanAllen of Clarkston, which appeared in Sunday's Tribune.
Are you serious? Do you think that our real problems lie with the Cubans and Mexicans? First of all, they are predominantly Catholics, and it was the Mexicans who really helped put out the fires in north central Washington.
You want something to be fearful of? The big cities in the U.S. are taking in Syrian refugees. These refugees are coming without absolutely no vetting whatsoever.
We have no way of knowing how many thousands of jihadists are infiltrated with the thousands we are absorbing. They might be Muslims and follow the Sharia laws, etc. And, according to their religious beliefs, the USA cannot charge them interest and take payment from them for our assistance and support to the refugees.
Our hard-earned tax dollars are going to help the Syrian refugees.
