Teach Trillhaase a lesson
Having taught school, I recognize teachable moments such as the one provided by the Friday Lewiston Tribune's Cheers & Jeers.
Marty Trillhaase is, once again, quite mistaken. Instead of throwing stale popcorn from the bleachers, perhaps Trillhaase could encourage a meaningful dialogue about things that matter - improving schools, expanding area jobs, reducing crushing regulations.
And please, Marty, give your readers some credit. I'm confident they remember I was honored and grateful to be their representative in the Idaho House in 2013 and 2014.
"Re-elect, transitive verb, elect again" (Webster).
Yes, I am seeking re-election to my previous office.
I've been greatly encouraged by the warm welcome I've received in this campaign. It is very touching. I draw true energy from this support and am excited by the idea of returning to the State House to fight for our values and a vibrant future for our district.
Social etiquette rules specify a person can retain the highest non-exclusive honorific. Thus, legislators, judges and doctors may be addressed for life as Rep. Stevenson, Rep. (Dan) Rudolph or Judge (John) Bradbury.
When the voters return me to the House, I retain my original seniority, with preference over freshmen in committee assignments.
Yes, I am a frugal woman, whether spending my own money, that of donors to my campaign or the tax money we take from hard-working district families. I know from my many conversations with Nez Perce and Lewis county folks that they appreciate a leader who fights to stop wasteful spending.

Lacks sense of dignity
Let's see if I have this correct. You, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, tell your constituents what a caring Christian representative you are and that you only want the best for us
and for America.
Then you tell us to vote for a man you know is a narcissist, racist, hate-filled, untruthful misogynist with absolutely no sense of dignity.
He has mocked a disabled person; you said nothing.
He disrespected a Gold Star family whose son gave his life for our country; you said nothing.
He denigrates women; you said nothing.
You and your political party should have some sense of morality to which you hold your presidential nominees, but you do not. To hang on to your political position and power, you will grovel, release your dignity, morals and faith and willingly turn our country over to a man who violates all of America's beliefs and norms. You are trying to make an abnormal person appear normal and we will not accept that.
You clearly have no sense of dignity. Or, as Karl Rove said, "If you accept the king's coin, you have to play the king's song." You are playing the king's song.
