Stand up for children

Marcia Banta defends Rep. Lori McCann’s actions on “library bills” (Tribune, May 18), saying that McCann took into account good “public policy” and made her decision “for the good of the whole,” which is a collectivist phrase used by progressives, socialists, communists and Marxists, etc. By contrast, Republicans do not sacrifice the individuals — children in this case — for an ideological agenda.
