Enough, already

When do you say enough is enough? The way that you have to take your life in your hands each time you try to cross to get on the bridge from either side is impossible.

Just try to get some help. That's impossible.

Try to get them to slow the traffic down. That's impossible.

Ask someone about it. You know what they will tell you? "We need to get the traffic moving."

The other thing is - yes, there is more - they will tell you that there are more problem areas that need more attention. Impossible.

Just wait until someone gets really hurt or worse. Just happens to be a wreck almost every two weeks. That's right, check it out. That's bad news.

A fifth-grader could do a better job at designing the way the traffic lanes are. Give your thoughts. Call Asotin County Public Works at (509) 243-2074. Stay safe. Let's do something yesterday.

Layaway avoids debt

No wonder our federal government is in so much trouble. If our nation's senators can't figure out the benefit of layaway for people struggling financially, then our country is in a lot of trouble.

With layaway, when you are done paying for the merchandise it is yours, free and clear. No interest charges to add onto more interest. No fees to add upon fees so the credit card companies make lots and lots of money.

Oh my! Where would we be if the credit card companies lost a little business?

Some of us have a hard time managing our finances, especially when Clearwater Paper sells your job out from under you. We all want to give our families at least a little Christmas, but some of our federal government officials want to make that more difficult, too.

I applaud all the businesses that are offering layaway, even the ones I don't particularly care for, at least for giving people a chance to buy something without all the interest.

Do the math

In response to the latest truck fuel spill on U.S. Highway 12: What I find incredibly ironic is that the Imperial Oil/ConocoPhillips oversized load opponents whined more about those loads causing damage along the road than they do about the normal traffic rolling through there every day.

That's - what? - twice now that an accident like this has spilled fuel in the Selway/Lochsa corridor?

Well, OK, three if we count the rolls of paper that fell into the river earlier this year that weren't retrieved until the water level came down.

Four, if we include the car that went in the drink that wasn't retrieved, again, until the water level fell.

So, let's recap: everyday traffic - 4, mega

loads - 0.

You do the math, because I'm terrible at it.

Redefining babies

I was watching TV, and I saw a Dumpster full of dead babies. They should have never called them fetuses.
