AUGUST 6

latah county vandal boosters - The Latah County Vandal Boosters will resume their monthly breakfast meetings on Aug. 6 at 7:30 a.m. at the Best Western Plus University Inn in Moscow. Agenda items include discussion of plans for the 2013 UI fall sports seasons.

AUGUST 8

LEWISTON FALL SPORTS PARENT/PLAYER MEETING - This mandatory meeting, which is for Lewiston High boys and girls who plan on trying out for fall sports, as well as their parents, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the LHS auditorium. Sports to be discussed are football, volleyball, cross country and boys' and girls' soccer. All required paperwork will be available. This includes a physical form, athletic questionnaire, concussion guidelines and pay-to-participate form. And those who haven't paid the $60 participation fee are asked to at the meeting (check are payable to LHS athletics). AUGUST 9

SEAPORT STRIDERS BENEFIT RUN - This 5K fun run will start at Asotin's Chief Looking Glass Park at 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The cost is $10 and all of the proceeds will go to the cross-country program at Asotin, Clarkston and Lewiston high schools. The entry fee also includes a shirt, while they last, and the first 100 registered will receive a water bottle provided by Peak Performance PT. SEAPORT STRIDERS BARBECUE - This club's annual barbecue will take place at 2020 Broadview Drive in Lewiston, beginning at 3 p.m. Aug. 10. Those who attend are asked to bring their swimming suits, a towel, a side dish and a beverage. Any shirts not sold during the club's benefit run the day before will be available of purchase. AUGUST 12

LEWISTON HIGH SOCCER - The Lewiston High boys' soccer team has scheduled tryouts beginning at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at Walker Field. All required paper work (physical, questionnaire, pay-to-play) needs to be submitted to the school office beforehand. Questions can be directed to coach David Kronemann at (208) 305-3759.

Lcsc baseball camp - The Lewis-Clark State Summer Baseball Camp, for youths aged 5-13 and conducted by L-C assistant coaches Allen Balmer and Justin Fuller, is scheduled for Aug. 12-14 from 8 a.m. to noon each day. AUGUST 13

JENIFER FRESHMAN FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT/REGISTRATION - Equipment will be issued for those planning on playing freshman football at Jenifer Junior High from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13 at the school's gym. Freshman registration will be happening at the cafeteria at the same time. To receive gear, players must have new physical forms completed, along with a health questionnaire. August 22

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB DEADLINES - Registration deadline is Aug. 22 for soccer and flag football programs of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley, open to youth from kindergarten through junior high.
