A web gem, a crowd pleaser and a monster inning

With the ball soaring down the left-field line, Cumberlands left fielder Josh Simon dove into foul territory to snag an out in the second inning against Westmont.

Sixth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) would go on to fall to third-seeded Westmont (Calif.) 7-3 in Game 2 of the Avista NAIA World Series on Friday at Harris Field after leading for most of the game, but Simon’s acrobatics apparently made an impression on some young fans.
