KENDRICK -- Six-foot-4 senior Chris Heier scored 30 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, and Davey Steele added 22 points in Kendrick High's 71-34 Whitepine League boys' basketball romp Monday night over Timberline of Pierce-Weippe.

The Tigers also received eight points, five steals and five assists from Jason Britton.

It was the biggest offensive output of the season for Kendrick, which won its second straight after an 0-5 start.

Timberline was led by Tony McCall's 12 points.

CULDESAC -- Tommy James poured in 24 points and Culdesac's zone defense held Orofino scoreless in the second quarter of a nonleague game.

James, a 6-1 post, scored off feeds from Jerod Zenner and Scott Weaver, who collected six and four assists respectively.

Zenner scored 15 points. James climbed for 11 rebounds.

Through three quarters, Culdesac submitted its best basketball of the season, notching its second win over Orofino, which is now 1-4 against 1A schools.

WRESTLING

Flemming wins twice

Curtis Flemming of Pomeroy posted two wins as a team composed of Pomeroy and Dayton wrestlers staged an exhibition match with the Lewiston JV at Booth Hall.

Chris Cavzos of Dayton also collected two victories.

The Lewiston varsity will stage an unusual double-dual Thursday at 5 p.m. at Booth Hall.

Southern Idaho teams Skyview and Nampa will take on Lewiston and a combined team from Orofino and Kamiah, the two best 2A teams in north-central Idaho.
