Emilee Schlader did a little bit of everything.
Correction: She did a lot of everything.
Behind a stellar performance by its rising junior, the Lewiston's girls' basketball team auspiciously opened its conference play with a dominating win over the defending state champs.
Handily defeating the Post Falls Trojans 59-26 in both teams' 5A Inland Empire League opener Tuesday at Booth Hall, the Bengals remained unbeaten, moving to 3-0, behind a near triple-double by Schlader.
She tallied 17 points, nine rebounds and eight steals.
The Bengal coach for a decade now, Pat Teichmer applauded Schlader's performance.
To express how difficult of a stat a triple-double is to attain, Teichmer added a nugget: Only one player he's coached has ever achieved a triple-double, and that was Savannah Blinn, who now plays volleyball for Gonzaga.
"It's early in the season, but after three games we're pretty happy," Teichmer said of his team's progress.
In addition to her other stats, Schlader added three assists. Also aiding the Bengal cause, Lynzee Wilson and Cali Moscrip added nine points apiece.
The Trojans dropped to 2-1 on the year and mustered just one third-quarter point.
