SPIRIT LAKE - The Orofino High girls' soccer team went to Timberlake on Friday and scored a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Becca Pence, Rachel Jones and Katie Nemeth.

"That was the only team from the district that beat us last year," said Orofino coach Ken Lame. "So it was kind of nice to go up there and get a win off the bat."

Lame said he is starting five freshmen this season, but they handled the season-opening test well.
