Clarkston High sophomore Michael Baldeck focuses on one sport - golf - and apparently throws his whole self into it.
"Michael spends a great deal of time working on his game," said his coach, Brian Frazier. "Very committed to it. Every time I go down to the country club, I can't hardly go down there without running into him."
After a strong varsity debut as a freshman last season, Baldeck has started well this spring. He won the individual championship at the Clarkston Invitational, and that performance earned him the latest Prep Athlete of the Week award.
Baldeck, 15, teams up with senior Tyler Carlson to give the Bantams a top-notch 1-2 punch.
He still has two more high-school seasons left, but Baldeck is already on the radar of college coaches, Frazier said.
"I know college coaches already have their eye on him. After the way he played last year, and if he continues on like that this year - like I know he will - he'll get lots of looks."
