MOSCOW - Behind a 79 from Brandon Koehler, the Lewiston boys' golf team took second in the Moscow Invitational on a cold, blustery Tuesday at the University of Idaho course.
Play was delayed by about an hour while light snow was cleared from the greens.
"It was a nasty day for the kids all day long," Bengals coach Shawn Nilsson said.
Lewiston also got an 80 from John Forsmann. The Bengals' JV squad took fifth, with Dusty Myklebust and Kory Kennedy both firing 82s.
Moscow took third, led by Shaun Hill's 78. Clarkston was fourth, with Tyler Carlson posting a 78.

Koberstein leads Pomeroy
ST. JOHN - Trevor Koberstein shot a 78 for medalist honors to pace Pomeroy's boys in a three-team affair at St. John Golf and Country Club.
Koberstein shot 8-over on the par-70 course, and the Pirates, who shot a 428, bested Tri-Cities Prep and St. John-Endicott.

Medical Lake - Pullman went toe-to-toe with Medical Lake in regulation, but was edged in a shootout in a Great Northern League boys' soccer tilt.
Medical Lake, which has yet to give up a goal in six games, won the shootout 3-1.
"I'm pleased with our play, but not the result," Pullman coach Doug Winchell said. "I liked the way we possessed the ball and attacked."
Pullman is now 3-2 in Great Northern League play and 3-4 overall.

Clarkston senior stalwart Austin Durfee was a force offensively, and the Bantams defense was suffocating in a Great Northern League shutout of West Valley.
Durfee scored three of Clarkston's four goals and assisted Seth Dotson in the 33rd minute.
"This game turned around when our defense came together in the second half," Clarkston coach Mike Alfred said.

The Grangeville tennis squad won five of the seven matches they played against Culdesac at the Sacajawea Courts on Tuesday.
Shelby Hewett of Culdesac won the lone singles matchup against Amber Farmer of Grangeville 8-1.
But the Bulldogs ruled the doubles circuit as Kenedie Cox, Nicole Smith, Alisha Lothspeich and Madeline Schwartz combined to win three of the four matches on the girls' contest.
