Walter Sanders, 33, of Clarkston and Jason A. Whitmire, 34, of Lewiston were arrested Monday on felony charges of first-degree theft and second-degree burglary, according to a news release from the Asotin County Sheriff's Office.

The arrests were made in connection with a recent burglary in the Anatone area, said Capt. Dan Hally. Asotin County deputies recently recovered a four wheeler and other items from a Clarkston residence located on the 700 block of 12th Street, and all of the items had been reported as stolen from the Sangster Road near Anatone, Hally said.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate other recent burglaries in the area. Hally is encouraging anyone with information to contact Whitcom at (509) 758-2331 and ask to speak to a deputy.

Sanders and Whitmire are being held at the Asotin County Jail. They appeared in Asotin County Superior Court this morning. Sanders' bond was set at $25,000 and Whitmire's is $15,000. They will return to court on Nov. 21 for arraignments.
