Gov. Otter is asking all Idahoans to honor the Moscow shooting victims with a moment of silence Wednesday afternoon.
"It's important that everyone in Idaho take time in the wake of this horrendous act to remember those who have lost their lives and offer our support to the families, friends and Moscow community as they mourn this tragedy," Otter said in a news release.
The governor is asking for a moment of silence at noon Pacific Time, “to let our friends and families in Moscow know they are in our thoughts and prayers, and that they are not alone in their grief."
Idaho legislators offered their thoughts and prayers this morning, holding a moment of silence during the invocation at the start of the House and Senate floor sessions.
“Heavenly Father, our hearts are overwhelmed by this tragedy. We ask that you be with the families and with the (fourth shooting victim), who remains in critical condition,” said House Chaplain Tom Dougherty.
Dougherty grew up in Clarkston in the early 1960s, when his father served as pastor of the First Church of God. He's been House Chaplain since 2008, serving with former Rep. Tom Trail, whose brother, David, was one of the three people who died in the shooting.
