The first Capital for a Day celebration of Idaho Gov. C.L. (Butch) Otter's third term takes place Friday in Kamiah.

Otter holds Capital for a Day events about once a month. They're intended to give people a chance to meet executive branch officials without having to drive to Boise.

During his first two terms in office, Otter visited every county in the state – twice. He begins his third term with a visit to Kamiah Middle School, 906 12th St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A list of agency officials expected at the meeting wasn't immediately available. During his Capital for a Day celebration in Lenore in September, Otter was joined by Lt. Gov. Brad Little, State Board of Education trustee Bill Goesling, and Idaho Commission on Aging Administrator Sam Haws, along with representatives of the Idaho Transportation Department, Department of Commerce, Department of Fish and Game and Idaho Historical Society.
