ALBION — An old railroad trestle and an outbuilding were destroyed by a wildfire near Albion Tuesday afternoon.
The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office shared in a Facebook post a fire was reported on Shawnee Road around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Several roads were closed while Whitman County Fire District 11 volunteers put out the blaze.
The post said the fire burned several power poles which caused a temporary outage for nearby residents that evening.
The Albion Fire Department announced in a Facebook post the blaze was fully extinguished around 6:30 p.m.
There is no update on what caused the fire.
