UPDATE AT 8:36 A.M.:

Power has mostly been restored to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, according to Avista's online outage map.

The map shows just 191 customers in Clarkston still without power. Restoration is expected by 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The Lewiston School District announced earlier this morning that school would go on as scheduled and buses were running normally.

About 5,000 Avista Utilities customers in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley are without electricity Wednesday morning after an outage that took hold at about 5:30 a.m.

The cause of the outage is a "pole fire," according to the online map that can be found here.

The estimated time of power restoration is 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The outage is mostly focused on Lewiston, though the map shows a small portion of Clarkston affected.
