The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, September 10, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As Tropical Storm Francine continues to further strengthen
throughout the day today, heavy rain will become more
widespread, and winds will start to increase from far
southern Texas across much of the western Gulf Coast, with
some rainbands perhaps reaching the Louisiana coastline by
day's end. A separate area of showers and thunderstorms will
move across much of Florida and the eastern Gulf Coast with
even more downpours. Afternoon monsoon thundershowers will
again dot portions of New Mexico, Colorado and Utah, and
possibly even Wyoming and the southeastern corner of Idaho.
A disturbance over the northern Plains may also spark some
showers from Minnesota to western parts of Wisconsin and the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Most places will stay dry in
the Northeast, Midwest, mid-Atlantic and West Coast.
